Resumo: | This paper seeks to revisit the theory of the gift, however, not restricted to a reanalysis of data brought for Mauss on The Gift. We aim here to discuss the possibilities of interpretation introduced by Bourdieu's work from two aspects: a) understanding the tripartite obligation of ‘giving-receiving-return’ from the theoretical background of the French sociologist, understanding this as a predisposition socially constructed; b) the specific interpretation that the author builds on the gift in an effort to uncover its mystery, which is in line with the stance of epistemological rupture. |

O presente artigo busca revisitar a teoria do dom, contudo, sem se resumir a uma reanálise dos dados trazidos por Mauss no Ensaio sobre a Dádiva. Objetivamos aqui debater as possibilidades de interpretação apresentadas na obra de Bourdieu a partir de dois eixos: a) o da compreensão da obrigação tripartite do ‘dar-receber-retribuir’, a partir do substrato teórico do sociólogo francês, entendendo esta enquanto uma predisposição construída socialmente; b) o da interpretação específica que o autor constrói sobre o dom, num esforço de desvelar o seu mistério, o que encontra-se em consonância com sua postura de ruptura epistemológica.
