Resumo: Three experiments were carried out in order to evaluate coffee hulls (CH) nutritive value, by means of digestibility trials with bovines (experiments 1 and 2) and lambs (experiment 3). The diets were constituted of two levels of CH to replace the roughage, corresponding to the levels of 5 and 15% of total DM. In experiment 1, the roughage used was Tifton hay, and in experiments 2 and 3, corn silage. The increase in CH levels resulted in different responses due to the roughage. A lower DM and nutrient digestibility was observed in the level of 15% of CH in experiment 1, while a higher one was observed in experiment 2. This could explain the difficulty in the CH energetic value determination. A mean value of 84.05 for TDN was observed for the CH, when corn silage was used as roughage.
