Resumo: The aim of this paper is first to define body culture, a constituent of Brazilian culture, as a totality formed by the interaction of such different social practices as dancing, games, gymnastics and sports, discuss its insertion in Physical Education and reflect on the teaching methodologies and forms of evaluation. Finally, there follows and analytical comment made on the bibliographical references.
