Resumo: The research problem of this paper is to describe the scientific context of the early 20th century, in the field of eugenics, and his influence in the specialized media of Physical Education. Aims to analyze the influence of eugenic ideas in two journals of Physical Education, who stood out in the 30’s and 40’s, namely, the Revista Educação Física, and the Revista de Educação Física do Exercito. A historical study raising primary and secondary sources was performed. It was found that although not hegemonic, the content of eugenics was present in the specialized media in Physical Education.

Tem como objetivo analisar a influência das idéias eugênicas em dois periódicos da área de Educação Física, que tiveram destaque nos anos 30 e 40, quais sejam, a Revista Educação Physica, e a Revista de Educação Física do Exército. Para isto foi realizado um estudo histórico levantando fontes primárias e secundárias sobre o objeto de estudo.
