THE METHODO ZABA (1870) AND HISTORY TEACHING IN BRAZIL

Resumo: In this article, I tried to reconstruct, albeit in general lines, the circulation of Methodo Zaba in Brazil, in the early 1870s, seeking to reveal cultures and school practices observable in different spaces and regions of the country, in order to problematize the history of History as a school subject, considering what the appropriations of the method reveal about the ways of teaching historical content in Brazilian schools, based on the diversity of institutional experiences and individual subjects (FREITAS; OLIVEIRA, 2022), in a context marked by professionalization (BORGES, 2021; GONDRA, 2018 e VIDAL; SILVA, 2012), the emergence of the school industry on a transnational scale (MEDA, 2015 e ALCANTARA; VIDAL, 2022) and the reorganization of programs (BITTENCOURT, 2018b; DICK, 2001) and modernization of teaching methods history (SANTOS, 2021).
