Pedagogical work in Polytechnic Higher Education in Portugal: an analysis from the Polytechnic Institutes

Resumo: | Polytechnic Higher Education (PHE) in Portugal is an educational option that includes training in Pre-service teacher education, Master’s and Doctoral courses in various areas. In this context, the purpose of this study was to analyze and characterize the pedagogical work carried out in PHE in Portugal, considering the perspectives conceived and implemented in the work of teachers at Polytechnic Institutes. This is an exploratory and descriptive study, which followed a qualitative and quantitative approach and was produced through document analysis, bibliographical and field research, involving 173 teachers. It is structured with a review of the literature dealing with the organization and functioning of the PHE and pedagogical work as a category present in the PHE and a description of the results achieved accompanied by discussions. It was noticed that the pedagogical work of the PHE is personalized as a dialectical movement that integrates spaces and times, encompassing the individual actions of teachers demarcated by the institutional pedagogical project. Professional training.La Educación Superior Politécnica (ESP) de Portugal es una opción educativa que contempla formación en cursos de Licenciatura, Maestría y Doctorado en diversas áreas. En este contexto, este estudio tuvo la finalidad de analizar y caracterizar el trabajo pedagógico desarrollado en la ESP de Portugal, considerando las perspectivas concebidas e implementadas en el trabajo de los profesores de los Institutos Politécnicos. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo, que siguió un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo y fue producido por medio de análisis documental, investigación bibliográfica y de campo, involucrando a 173 profesores. Se encuentra estructurado con una revisión de la literatura que trata de la organización y del funcionamiento de la ESP y del trabajo pedagógico como categoría presente en la ESP y descripción de los resultados alcanzados acompañados de discusiones. Se constató que el trabajo pedagógico de la ESP se personaliza como un movimiento dialéctico que integra espacios y tiempos, abarcando la acción individual de los profesores demarcada por el proyecto pedagógico institucional.
