Commodification of private higher education: repercussions on the inicial training of teachers

Resumo: The article discusses the repercussions of neoliberal policies on teacher training courses at commodification private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the State of São Paulo. From the lenses of the historical-dialectical method, considering the totality in which Higher Education is inserted and its determinations, it brings discussions derived from theoretical-empirical studies, which occurred in the scope of two doctoral researches (KASSIS, 2021; SALCES, 2020) that, supported by the formulations of Saviani, Pimenta, Libâneo and others, highlight the indispensability of Pedagogy as an epistemological field in initial formation. Based on interviews with students, professors, and coordinators of the undergraduate programs of these HEIs, it became evident that the economicist view of education impacts on the pedagogical, curricular, and management orientations. It defends the urgency of policies that distance themselves from private interests and that drive to the construction of socially fair public school referenced by an emancipatory pedagogy.

A la luz del método histórico-dialéctico, considerando la totalidad en que se inserta la Educación Superior y sus determinaciones, trae discusiones surgidas de estudios teórico-empíricos, que ocurrieron en el ámbito de dos investigaciones doctorales (KASSIS, 2021; SALCES, 2020) que, apoyadas en las formulaciones de Saviani, Pimenta, Libâneo y otros, destacan la indispensabilidad de la Pedagogía como campo epistemológico en la formación inicial. A partir de entrevistas con estudiantes, profesores y coordinadores de carreras de estas IES, quedó claro que la visión economicista de la educación incide en los lineamientos pedagógicos, curriculares y de gestión. Se concluye por la necesidad de proponer políticas de formación docente que se alejen de los intereses privatistas y que impulsen la construcción de una escuela pública socialmente justa, referenciada por una pedagogía emancipatoria.O artigo problematiza as repercussões das políticas neoliberais sobre os cursos de formação de professores em Instituições de Educação Superior (IES) privado-mercantis do estado de São Paulo pertencentes a um conglomerado educacional. A partir das lentes do método histórico-dialético, considerando a totalidade em que se insere a Educação Superior e suas determinações, traz discussões oriundas de estudos teórico-empíricos, ocorridos no âmbito de duas pesquisas de doutoramento (KASSIS, 2021; SALCES, 2020) que, apoiados nas formulações de Saviani, Pimenta, Libâneo e outros, destacam a imprescindibilidade da Pedagogia como campo epistemológico na formação inicial. A partir de entrevistas com estudantes, professores e coordenadores dessas IES, evidenciou-se que a visão economicista da educação impacta nas orientações pedagógicas, curriculares e de gestão.
