Resumo: | This paper reports a research that investigated the treatment attributed to Pedagogy as a field of knowledge, underdegree course and profession, in thesis of Undergraduate Program in Pedagogy and dissertations and PhD thesis of Post-Graduation in Education in the scope of the Center of Education of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in order to produce subsidies that help in the defense of the specificities of Pedagogy in the current scenario of problematic repercussions of new and old conceptual mistakes derived from curricular policies destined to the formation of pedagogues in the country. With qualitative character, the research was guided by processes of mapping of works in the Repository of the UFPB, characterizing itself as a bibliographical study. It was verified that during the initial formation of the pedagogue, the non-schooling education is not approached, giving exclusivity to the teaching, resulting in difficulties, on the part of the authors of the analyzed researches, in conceptualizing Pedagogy in its epistemological sense, whose treatment is inclined, frequently, to summarize it to teaching. |

Con carácter cualitativo, la investigación fue orientada para procesos de mapeo de obras en el Repositorio de la UFPB, caracterizándose como un estudio bibliográfico. Se verificó que durante la formación inicial del pedagogo, no se aborda la educación no escolarizada, dando exclusividad a la enseñanza, resultando en dificultades, por parte de los autores de las investigaciones analizadas, en conceptualizar la Pedagogía en su sentido epistemológico, cuyo tratamiento se inclina, frecuentemente, a resumirla a la enseñanza.Este trabalho relata uma pesquisa que investigou o tratamento atribuído à Pedagogia como campo de conhecimento, curso e profissão, em Trabalhos de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) de Licenciatura em Pedagogia e em teses e dissertações de Pós-Graduação em Educação no âmbito do Centro de Educação (CE) da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), de modo a produzir subsídios que auxiliem na defesa das especificidades da Pedagogia no cenário atual de repercussões problemáticas de novos e antigos equívocos conceituais derivados de políticas curriculares destinadas à formação de pedagogas/os no país. Com caráter quanti-qualitativo, a pesquisa pautou-se por processos de mapeamento de trabalhos no Repositório da UFPB, caracterizando-se como um estudo bibliográfico. Constatou-se que durante a formação inicial da/o pedagoga/o não é abordada a educação não escolar, dando exclusividade ao magistério.
