Escala geográfica e cartográfica do 6º ano no Ensino Fundamental: mapas mentais e aprendizagem

Resumo: The research aims to examine how the concept of scale has been seized in the 6th year of elementary school by students.As this known developed by students has contributed to the formation of a spatial reasoning in primary school. To this end, we invest in the knowledge of spatial representations of cartographic and geographic scales of students. In order to advance, we discuss what the vision built by the students, based on the differentiation and expansion of the geographic and cartographic concepts. The research aims in the light of Vygotskian theory of development of scientific and everyday concepts, show the weaknesses of students and performance capabilities through the development of a spatial reasoning. So also meets a non-Cartesian reading of cartography, showing rich results for the goals set. To this end, we developed two (2) activities with mental maps during the search in a municipal school of Marica (west coast), Greater Rio de Janeiro. Preliminary results of this activity allowed us to visualize a maturing in some mental maps as the construction of guided reasoning in geographic and cartographic scale, particularly with regard to the location and organization of arrangements and elements in the geographic space. In view of this, this paper aims to discuss the construction of mental maps of the students of the 6th year of elementary school to contribute to a better understanding regarding the geographic scale and cartographic teaching.

Como este conhecido desenvolvido pelos alunos tem contribuído para a formação de um raciocínio espacial na escola básica. Para tal, investe-se no conhecimento das representações espaciais das Escalas cartográfica e geográfica dos estudantes. A fim de avançar, discute-se qual a visão construída pelos estudantes, com base na diferenciação e complementação das conceituações geográfica e cartográfica. A pesquisa visa, à luz da teoria vigotskiana de desenvolvimento dos conceitos científicos e cotidianos, mostrar as fragilidades e potencialidades de atuação dos alunos através do desenvolvimento de um raciocínio espacial. Assim também, vai ao encontro de uma leitura não cartesiana da cartografia, que mostra ricos resultados para os objetivos traçados. Para tal, foram desenvolvidas duas (2) atividades com mapas mentais durante a pesquisa em uma escola municipal de Maricá (litoral oeste), Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. Os resultados preliminares desta atividade permitiram visualizar um amadurecimento em alguns mapas mentais quanto à construção do raciocínio pautado na Escala geográfica e cartográfica, sobretudo no que se refere à localização e organização dos arranjos e elementos no espaço geográfico.
