Resumo: The work has as its theme home education today, focusing on an experience of parental day care in the period from 2017 to 2021. The main objective of the study is, then, to analyze the experience with the parental day care called Quintal as an alternative for the education of children and the necessary reconfigurations for their continuity during the covid-19 pandemic. The research problem is, from my experience, to show what a parental day care center is and what are the potentialities and difficulties for its existence. Considering the problem and the objectives outlined so far, a methodological approach of action research was defined as a research line, since the experience is empirical, with observation, immersion and interaction with the social group studied. The theoretical framework refers to the studies of Vasconcelos, whose conceptions underlie the debate on the growing homeschooling movement in Brazil. It is hoped with this study to create a reference guideline for those who carry out or are interested in starting a home education with a parental day care format, based on a recorded and analyzed experience.

O objetivo central do estudo é, então, analisar a experiência com a creche parental chamada Quintal como alternativa para a educação de crianças pequenas e as reconfigurações necessárias para a sua continuidade durante a pandemia da covid-19. O problema de pesquisa é, a partir da minha experiência, evidenciar o que é uma creche parental e quais são as potencialidades e dificuldades para a sua existência. Considerando o problema e os objetivos traçados até aqui, foi definida como linha de pesquisa uma abordagem metodológica de pesquisa-ação, visto que a experiência é empírica, com observação, imersão e convívio com o grupo social estudado. O referencial teórico remete aos estudos de Vasconcelos, cujas concepções fundamentam o debate do crescente movimento de educação domiciliar no Brasil.
