“Enjoei da pandemia”: uma análise do consumo de segunda mão durante o distanciamento social

Resumo: Our research aims to analyze second-hand consumption habits during the period of social distancing, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, based on the case study of the “Enjoei” platform. Therefore, we carried out an unsystematic observation of the functioning of the website and the users behavior in this environment during the months of greatest adherence to social distancing (March to June 2020). It is worth noting that, methodologically, we consider the research to be qualitative-exploratory in nature, as we are dedicated to obtaining initial data on consumer motivations linked to the phenomenon of second-hand consumption and how this consumption model was remodeled based on the lived social context: the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the unsystematic observation, we carried out analyzes of the speeches used on the website and interviews with “Enjoei” users. As research contributions, we developed an illustrative picture of the motivations linked to second-hand consumption both online and in the physical environment. Finally, we would like to emphasize that the entire development of the work was supported by a theoretical framework linked to the themes of Consumption, Fashion, Material Culture and Second-hand Market from authors such as McCracken, Douglas and Isherwood, Simmel, Freitas, Miller, Roux and Korchia among others

Sendo assim, realizamos uma observação assistemática do funcionamento do site e do comportamento dos usuários nesse ambiente durante os meses de maior adesão ao distanciamento social (março a junho de 2020). Vale destacar que, metodologicamente, consideramos a pesquisa de caráter qualitativo-exploratório, pois nos dedicamos a obter dados iniciais acerca das motivações dos consumidores ligadas ao fenômeno do consumo de segunda mão e de como esse modelo de consumo se remodelou a partir do contexto social vivido: a pandemia da Covid-19. Além da observação assistemática, realizamos análises dos discursos utilizados no site e entrevistas com usuários do “Enjoei”. Como contribuições da pesquisa, desenvolvemos um quadro ilustrativo das motivações ligadas ao consumo de segunda mão tanto no ambiente on-line como no ambiente físico.
