Resumo: The present study aimed to analyze children's play during school play in early childhood education, emphasizing their contributions to their child development. We begin our study with a bibliographical survey with theoretical theorists, with the theoretical support of Ariès (2011), Kishimoto (2011), Vieira (2005), Chateau (1987), Barros (2009), Faria (2002), Bomtempo (1999), Brougére (2010) ,Cordazzo and Vieira (2008) among others. We then conducted a field survey at a municipal school for children's education in October 2018. Data collection at the school took place through recreational observation, and the field diary was used as an instrument. A total of 119 children aged 3 to 5 years participated in this study and 15 playgrounds were observed, which allowed us to divide the jokes into four topics of analysis: play with locomotion; conflicts / genres and media influences. With the results obtained, we conclude that traditional play along with the play is the most performed in the playground, with some new meanings for them, as well as issues of gender / conflict were addressed, and how the media ends up influencing the child, reflecting consequently in the games.

Iniciamos nosso estudo com um levantamento bibliográfico com teóricos que abordam a temática, contando com o suporte teórico de Ariès (2011), Kishimoto (2011), Chateau (1987), Barros (2009), Faria (2002), Bomtempo (1999), Brougére (2010), Cordazzo e Vieira (2008) dentre outros. Em seguida realizamos uma pesquisa de campo numa escola municipal de educação infantil em outubro de 2018. A coleta de dados na escola deu-se através da observação do recreio, tendo o diário de campo como instrumento. Participaram dessa pesquisa cerca de 119 crianças na faixa etária de 3 a 5 anos e foram observados 15 recreios, que nos permitiu dividir as brincadeiras em quatro tópicos de análise, a saber: faz de conta; brincadeiras com locomoção; conflitos/gêneros e influências midiáticas.
