At present, the issue of mitigating social inequalities has gained insight in the general scenario. Education, as well as school, has been used as a means of bringing about effective change. Given this perspective, this paper aims to understand the importance of Non-formal Education applied in socially vulnerable communities from the work done by the CASCA Project, located in Vila 25, in the city of Delmiro Gouveia -AL. This research is classified as basic research seeking the description of the object of study, the social project, and the relationship with the community in view of educational practices based on Moacir Gadotti's theoretical framework about the definition of Non-formal Education, and Maria da Glória Gohn, with studies in the area of education in view of the role of the social educator. Therefore, the methodology adopted for this study is a qualitative and quantitative approach, seeking the interpretation of the information and data collected through an interview with the founder of the social project, as well as a school of the municipal school, which enrolled in Formal Education a group of individuals literate by the project. The research results show how the process of inclusion in social risk communities is very important for society, and the performance of social projects, such as the research object, are essential for social uniqueness. At the end of the process carried out during this study, it is concluded that initiatives such as the one carried out by the researched social project are extremely important for society, as they use Non-Formal Education as a core for the social inclusion of individuals living in urban areas. risky.
