This research aims to understand the singularities of the training of daycare teachers. Early childhood education is an initial stage in the schooling process of children in its multiple dimensions. We emphasize the historical process of teacher training, the knowledge and skills applicable to daycare teachers, who contribute to the construction of their professional identity and the training of children. The research was carried out with a group of eight teachers from the municipality of Mata Grande-AL. It presents the methodology with a qualitative approach in which questionnaires about the profiles of teachers and focus groups were used, in order to identify the formation of teachers, perceiving through their speeches how they understand the specifics of their work, how they organize pedagogical practices and list of working conditions. From the research we analyzed the laws and guidelines of education and the changes in the field of Early Childhood Education, the data analysis shows us the discontinuity of the requirements of teacher education in the speeches and pedagogical actions of teachers. The daycare teacher is still hired without specific training, contributing to the lack of professional appreciation, alarming issues that collaborate significantly to rethink and promote better teacher training policies capable of critical changes in the daycare center.
