Comunicação científica na web social: desempenho dos docentes de biblioteconomia da região nordeste no researchgate

Social media are increasingly present in the daily life of society in general. The dissemination and communication of science, also undergoes significant changes with the emergence of social media and interactions. In this context, new forms of science assessment have been proposed, in addition to traditional metrics, through citations and / or carried out by peers. Thus, the Metrics at Author Level are represented by indicators related to the interactions that the authors make and receive from their profiles in digital environments. This research aims to investigate the performance of professors of Library Science courses in the Northeast region in the academic social network ResearchGate. In this cybermetric and scientometric study, profiles of 193 Librarianship teachers from the northeast region were searched, where 63 have a profile on the academic social media ResearchGate and from a list of alternative metrics suggested by Orduña-Malea, Martín-Martín, Delgado-López-Cózar (2016) identified the metrics of publication, metrics of citation, metrics of evaluation and use, metrics of social connectivity and metrics composed in each of the profiles. In the survey carried out it was possible to perceive a still timid number of use of the academic social network ResearchGate by the teachers of the Library Science courses in the Northeast Region, corresponding to only 33% of the teachers surveyed.
