Resumo: The text reveals the challenges that the Marxist theory and it’s conception of history, in interlocution with the first generation of The Annales School, puts to the History of Education. This study also highlights the ethical-political character of the conception of Marxist history, in discussion with postmodern sectors. It shows as well the revolutionary and emancipatory commitment of this perspective to the research and teaching of the History of Education.
