O ensino de português como língua materna na perspectiva da sociolinguística: uma proposta interdisciplinar com letras de música de capoeira

Resumo: This paper aims to reflect on the teaching of Portuguese as a mother tongue, in a sociolinguistic and interdisciplinary perspective, from elements of Afro-Brazilian culture related to the country’s linguistic and cultural diversity. Methodologically, from the lyrics of capoeira songs, questions are proposed with the purpose of awakening students’ awareness of the historical processes associated with the formation of our society and our linguistic variety, about the diversity of Brazilian Portuguese and about prejudices present in our society, among them, the linguistic one. The reflections are based on the assumptions of Sociolinguistics, introduced by Labov (2008), and on the contributions of this model to the teaching of the mother tongue (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004; FARACO, 2008, 2015; BAGNO, 2002, among others). The conclusions resulting from these reflections suggest, as a way of awakening the linguistic awareness of the variable phenomena and combating linguistic prejudice, the approach of social and cultural issues related to the formation of linguistic varieties and Brazilian sociolinguistic reality

Metodologicamente, a partir de letras de músicas de capoeira, propõem-se questões com o propósito de despertar a consciência dos alunos sobre os processos históricos associados à formação da nossa sociedade e de nossa variedade linguística, sobre a diversidade do português brasileiro e sobre os preconceitos sociais presentes em nossa sociedade, dentre eles, o linguístico. As reflexões baseiam-se nos pressupostos da Sociolinguística, introduzidos por Labov (2008), e nas contribuições desse modelo para o ensino de língua materna (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004; FARACO, 2008, 2015; BAGNO, 2002, entre outros).
