Resumo: The peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a Leguminosae of great importance in the national and international market, in Brazil, peanuts in the 70s had a deficit in their production, mainly due to technological factors. Today it is widely used in crop rotation in the Southeast region, where strength and domestic markets are gaining strength. The peanut harvesting process involves two stages: digging and Gathering. And it is in these stages where most losses occur, several factors contribute, one of which is the formation of the pod below the soil surface, characteristic of the crop, since it is difficult to determine the exact maturation of its fruit. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of the peanut harvest process through the statistica l control of the process. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the quality of the peanut harvest process through the statistical control of the process. The experiment was carried out in two locations located in the Triângulo Mineiro region of the State of Minas Gerais, where 20 samples were collected for each variable analyzed, The visible losses in the digging (VLD), invisible losses the digging (ILD) and , total losses of the digging (TLD ).The experimental design followed the premises of Stat istical Process Control, through the use of control charts of individual values and mobile range, as well as descriptive analysis for each quality indicator. It was verified that the invisible loss and total losses of the digging in the starter was the mos t critical, meeting little of the quality indicators requirements, reflecting the higher losses and the lower quality of the process. However, part of the process remained under control for most of the indicators evaluated, indicating that the data were cl ose to the means found, thus indicating that we have a good quality of the process.
