Curricularization of university extension: a bibliometric analysis

Resumo: | Extension activities in Brazilian universities have existed since 1911 based on the provision of services. Since then, there has been a commitment on the part of teachers, students and organized civil society to have a solid social commitment between the university and society. For this purpose, Law no. 5,540 / 68; the Forum of Pro-Rectors; the Federal Constitution (1988) and the National Extension Policy (2012). Despite these attempts, extension does not yet have the same importance in the triad (teaching, research and extension) in academic training in undergraduate courses. Thus, in order to minimize this problem, the National Education Plan (PNE) 2014-2024, established that they should be credited in the curriculum of the courses"[...] at least 10% (ten percent) of the total curricular credits required for graduation in university extension programs and projects". Thus, the objective of this article was to carry out a bibliometric analysis on the fulfillment of this strategy. The analysis was performed based on bibliographic research and secondary data through consultation with the CAPES thesis and dissertation database; extension magazines and works published in annals of events. According to bibliometric analysis, it can be concluded that there is little contribution related to the theme and that accreditation brings with it a series of conceptual reflections on extension, as well as the fact that it is a challenge for Higher Education institutions. Findings indicate that each institution must choose the best work strategy according to the level of knowledge and involvement of the academic community. |

Desde entonces ha existido un compromiso por parte de profesores, estudiantes y sociedad civil organizada de tener un sólido compromiso social de la universidad con la sociedad. A tal efecto, la Ley n. 5.540/68; el Foro de Prorrectores; la Constitución Federal (1988) y la Política de Extensión Nacional (2012). A pesar de estos intentos, la extensión aún no tiene la misma importancia en la triada (docencia, investigación y extensión) en la formación académica en los cursos de pregrado. Así, con el fin de minimizar este problema, el Plan Nacional de Educación (PNE) 2014-2024 estableció que “[...] al menos el 10% (diez por ciento) del total de créditos curriculares requeridos para egresar en programas y proyectos de extensión universitaria ”. Así, el objetivo de este artículo fue realizar un análisis bibliométrico sobre el cumplimiento de esta estrategia. El análisis se realizó a partir de investigaciones bibliográficas y datos secundarios consultando la base de datos de tesis y disertaciones de la CAPES; revistas de extensión y obras publicadas en anales de sucesos. De acuerdo con el análisis bibliométrico, se puede concluir que hay poca contribución relacionada con el tema y que la acreditación trae consigo una serie de reflexiones conceptuales sobre la extensión, además de que es un desafío para las instituciones de Educación Superior. Apesar destas tentativas a extensão ainda não possui na tríade (ensino, pesquisa e extensão) a mesma importância na formação acadêmica nos cursos de graduação. Desta forma, de modo a minimizar este problema, o Plano Nacional de Educação (PNE) 2014-2024, instituiu que devem ser creditados no currículo dos cursos “[...] no mínimo, 10% (dez por cento) do total de créditos curriculares exigidos para a graduação em programas e projetos de extensão universitária”. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo foi realizar uma análise bibliométrica sobre o cumprimento desta estratégia. A análise foi realizada com base em pesquisa bibliográfica e dados secundários por meio de consulta ao banco de teses e dissertações da CAPES; revistas de extensão e trabalhos publicados em anais de eventos. Segundo a análise bibliométrica pode-se concluir que há pouca contribuição relacionada à temática e que a creditação traz consigo uma série de reflexões conceituais sobre extensão, bem como o fato de ser um desafio para as instituições de Educação Superior.
