WORK, EDUCATION AND POLITICS IN THE EXPERIENCE OF MIGRANTS FROM THE CONTESTED OCCUPATION IN SÃO JOSÉ/SC

The article analyzes the workers migrant experience in the Contestado Occupation, which began in 2012 on the city of São José/SC. The analysis method is historical and dialectical materialism. We understand the work category as a determinant for the knowledge of social relations. The research was based on observation, interviews, documental and theoretical study. We present four trajectories of migrant workers, which revealed their experience as workers, migrants, mothers and participants in the political-educational process constituting the Occupation. We conclude that the migration analyzed is determined by the dynamics of capital, and occupation is an expression, on the one hand, of the process of expropriation/exploitation at work, homelessness and state violence. On the other hand, it reveals indignation and fighting strength of the organized workers. The occupation educates, in addition to being alternative housing for migrant workers.
