“TODAY IS DRAWING DAY”: working Cartography in remote classes

Resumo: In the academic year of 2021, in order to encourage drawing in remote Geography classes (due to the global pandemic of Covid-19) I decided to participate with four classes of the 6th grade of Elementary School in the “Cartography for Children Contest”. In this text, I present some drawings produced by basic education students during cartographic literacy classes. The activity brought new perspectives on school Cartography and led students to realize that they can and should be protagonists in the elaboration of maps.

The activity brought new perspectives on school Cartography and led students to realize that they can and should be protagonists in the elaboration of maps.En el curso 2021, con el fin de incentivar el dibujo en las clases de Geografía a distancia (debido a la pandemia mundial del Covid-19) decidí participar con cuatro clases del 6º de Primaria en el “Concurso de Cartografía para Niños”. En este texto presento algunos dibujos realizados por estudiantes de educación básica durante clases de alfabetización cartográfica. La actividad trajo nuevas perspectivas sobre la Cartografía escolar y llevó a los estudiantes a darse cuenta de que pueden y deben ser protagonistas en la elaboración de mapas.No ano letivo de 2021, com o objetivo de estimular o desenho nas aulas remotas de Geografia (devido à pandemia global de Covid-19) decidi participar com quatro turmas do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental do “Concurso Cartografia para Crianças”. Nesse texto, apresento alguns desenhos produzidos por estudantes da educação básica durante as aulas de alfabetização cartográfica.
