This research has as object the analysis of the voices in the work, As meninas by Lygia Fagundes Telles. In that sense, it was made a tracing of those voices, to observe how they move over and the role they carry out in the composition of the narrative. Thus was the polyphonic and dialogic character of the work identified. The senses of such movement and the role those voices can produce were also looked forward to, as to build a reading model, among many, capable of discussing the problematic of the period equivalent to the 70s, when Brazil lived under the regime of military dictatorship. To get to know that context on the basis of the contemporary literary discourse to that period, made it possible to think on social roles and values, aiming to reflect on how humankind transits between the simplicity and the complexity of the facts, reacting and struggling for its survival.
