Resumo: O presente artigo analisa a relevância da atividade cafeeira no Brasil e sua histórica relação com a degradação do meio ambiente. Diante da função socioambiental da propriedade rural, estabelecida pela Constituição Federal de 1988, não se pode admitir, hodiernamente, que o cultivo e a plantação de café sejam prejudiciais ao meio ambiente ecologicamente equilibrado. Constata-se que a as questões ambientais foram e continuam sendo inerentes à cafeicultura e procura-se aferir se, efetivamente, poder-se-ia imputar responsabilidade civil a eventuais degradadores. Buscou-se compreender o problema por meio de raciocínio dedutivo, com vertente metodológica jurídico-teórica, alicerçando-se na análise de doutrinas e artigos relacionados ao tema proposto.Abstract: This article analyzes the relevance of the coffee industry in Brazil and its historical relationship with the degradation of the environment. Given the socio-environmental function of rural property, established by the 1988 Federal Constitution, it is unacceptable, in our times, the cultivation and the coffee plantation be harmful to an ecologically balanced environment. It notes that the environmental issues have been and are involved in coffee production and seeks to assess whether, in fact, power would impute liability to any degrading We tried to understand the problem through the deductive method, basing on the analysis of doctrines and articles related to the proposed topic.
