EDUCATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF RACIAL EQUITY: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT ON ETHNIC-RACIAL RELATIONS FOR CHILDREN IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Resumo: | In this experience report, we present and discuss the project African descendant culture developed in two classes of 3rd grade of elementary school in a public school in the center-west of São Paulo based on the dialectical methodology in which the proposed activities went through the synthesis, analysis and synthesis in a problematizing, interactive and creative way, developing dialogue and critical analysis of knowledge about Africa, understanding it as the cradle of humanity and recognizing its presence and importance in the formation of Brazilian people, equipping students to transform the way they understand and act in the world. Through this project the children had the opportunity to (re)know the African descendant culture as inherent to our identity and to minimize the prejudiced and discriminatory ideas disseminated throughout history. During the implementation of the project it was possible to notice that the children were already appropriating the knowledge and manifesting changes in their conceptions and attitudes towards African cultures and representations of themselves. Elementary School.En este relato de experiencia, presentamos y discutimos el proyecto Cultura afrodescendiente desarrollado en dos clases de 3º año de la Enseñanza Fundamental de una escuela pública del medio-oeste paulista sobre la base de la metodología dialéctica en la que las actividades propuestas han atravesado por la síncrese, análisis y síntesis de forma problematizadora, interactiva y creativa, desarrollando el dialogo y el análisis crítico de los conocimientos sobre África, entendiéndola como la cuna de la humanidad y reconociendo su presencia e importancia en la formación del pueblo brasileño, instrumentalizando a los estudiantes para transformar la forma de comprender y actuar en el mundo. A partir de la realización de ese proyecto los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de (re)conocer la cultura afrodescendiente como inherente a nuestra identidad y de minimizar las ideas preconcebidas y discriminatorias diseminadas a lo largo de la historia. Durante la ejecución del proyecto fue posible percibir que los niños ya se apropiaban del conocimiento y manifestaban cambios en sus concepciones y actitudes en relación a las culturas africanas y a las representaciones de sí. Educación Primaria y Secundaria.Neste relato de experiência, apresentamos e discutimos o projeto Cultura afrodescendente, desenvolvido em duas turmas de 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública do centro-oeste paulista, com base na metodologia dialética, em que as atividades propostas perpassaram pela síncrese, análise e síntese de forma problematizadora, interativa e criativa, desenvolvendo a dialogicidade e a análise crítica dos conhecimentos sobre a África, entendendo-a como o berço da humanidade e reconhecendo a sua presença e importância na formação do povo brasileiro, instrumentalizando os/as estudantes para transformarem a forma de compreenderem e agirem no mundo. A partir da realização desse projeto, as crianças tiveram a oportunidade de (re)conhecer a cultura afrodescendente como inerente à nossa identidade e de minimizar as ideias preconceituosas e discriminatórias disseminadas ao longo da história. Durante a execução do projeto foi possível perceber que as crianças já se apropriavam do conhecimento e manifestavam mudanças em suas concepções e atitudes em relação às culturas africanas e às representações de si.
