Resumo: This article aims at briefly discussing the dilemmas and perspectives for physical education in the face of the educational inclusion paradigm for special needs students. To achieve this, it has been necessary to approach the following issues: a) the guiding principles for special education; b) facts and schools of thought that have been guiding the development of inclusive education in Brazil; c) Brazilian educational policies towards special/inclusive education against the backdrop of integration and inclusion and what Brazilian statistical data have shown on the inclusion of these students in the public and private school sectors; and d) the dilemmas and perspectives of physical education in the face of the educational inclusion of special needs students. This study has led us to conclude that, in order for physical education to be inclusive, we will need to get involved in social-political-pedagogical practices that is capable of materializing a new type of school physical education and creating new paths to be followed.

Para ello, se hace necesario abordar las siguientes temáticas: a) principios que orientan la educación especial; b) hechos y corrientes de pensamiento que orientan el desarrollo de la educación inclusiva en Brasil; c) Políticas educativas brasileñas relacionadas a la educación especial de educación inclusiva, en la integración y en la inclusión y lo que ha demostrado los datos estadísticos brasileños cuanto a la inclusión de la gente con necesidades especiales educativas en escuelas privadas o públicas; y d) los dilemas y las perspectivas de la educación física ante la inclusión escolar de las personas con necesidades especiales. Constatamos que, para que la educación física sea incluyente tenemos que estar involucrados en una práctica polítcio-socio-pedagógico capaz de materializarse en una nueva escuela de educación física y en nuevos caminos por recorrer.Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir, de forma sucinta, os dilemas e as perspectivas da Educação Física diante do paradigma da inclusão escolar de pessoas com necessidades educacionais especiais. Para isto, faz-se necessário abordar as seguintes temáticas: a) princípios que orientam a educação especial; b) fatos e correntes de pensamento que vêm orientando o desenvolvimento da educação inclusiva no Brasil; c) políticas educacionais brasileiras relacionadas à educação especial/educação inclusiva, nos cenários da integração e da inclusão e o que têm demonstrado os dados estatísticos brasileiros quanto à inclusão dessas pessoas na rede de ensino público e/ou privado; e d) os dilemas e as perspectivas da educação física diante da inclusão escolar das pessoas com necessidades especiais.
