Physical Education and Television: Reflections on Sensitivity, Technology and Knowledge

Resumo: This research study stems from the principle that knowledge in Physical Education is eminently experiential and it recognizes that information technology and, most specifically, mass communication is capable of transmitting information to a large audience and modifying the experience of body practices as they are thematized by Physical Education. In this sense this research study aims at analyzing how technological equipment, specially television, interferes in the apprehension of knowledge in Physical Education, based on the reflection about sports. We have thus cast an aesthetic eye on sports as television shows and we have used content analysis to work on discourses from professionals. We have also pointed to the need of revising some of the concepts that are akin to the area, such as body, sensitivity, and knowledge. KEYWORDS: sports – Physical Education – technology.

En este sentido, esta investigación objetiva analizar como el aparato tecnológico, em especial la televisión, interviene con la apropiación del conocimiento en Educación Física y con base en la refl exión con deporte. De esta forma utilizamos el mirar estético sobre el telespectáculo deportivo el análisis del contenido para trabajar con discursos de profesionales. Además, el trabajo señala a la revisión de algunos conceptos pertinentes al área, tales como cuerpo, sensibilidad y conocimiento. PALABRAS-CLAVE: el deporte – Educación Física – tecnología.Este estudo parte do princípio de que o conhecimento da Educação Física é, eminentemente, vivencial e reconhece que a tecnologia da informação, especificamente a comunicação de massa, é capaz de transmitir informação para um grande público, modificando a vivência das práticas corporais tematizadas pela Educação Física. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa objetiva analisar como o aparato tecnológico, em especial a televisão, interfere na apropriação do conhecimento na Educação Física, com base na reflexão sobre o esporte. Assim, utilizamos o olhar estético sobre o telespetáculo esportivo e a análise de conteúdo para trabalhar com discursos de profissionais. Além disso, apontamos para a revisão de alguns conceitos pertinentes à área, tais como corpo, sensibilidade e conhecimento.
