DETECTION OF ANTIMICROBIALS IN RAW MILK CONTAINERS

Resumo: 749 raw milk samples were collected from milk cans at the reception platform of dairy industries, distributed over Goiânia and in the interior of the State of Goiás, from April, 1984 to July, 1985. It was found out a prevalence of 7.47% of antimicrobian residues in this food. This value indicates the lack of worry by the Federal Inspection, A. M. , dairy industries, etc., with the quality of this product and with the public health. The comparative results related to the types of federal inspection existing at the dairy industries, approximate distance, in kilometers from farm to the reception platform, milk cans arrival time, dry and rainy periods, showed that the higher frequency of positive samples appeared in the dairies industries with permanent federal inspection, in the farms located 50 km from the dairy industries, and in the milk cans which arrived late to the reception platform. On the other hand, it was found the voluntary addition of antimicrobians in the milk by the conveyor to avoid its acidification. This result may explain a higher positive frequency of cases observed during dry period, instead of rainy period, as expected.

No período compreendido entre abril de 1984 a junho de 1985 colheu-se 749 amostras de leite cru de latões nas “plataformas de recepção” das indústrias laticinistas localizadas na bacia leiteira de Goiânia e postos de resfriamento no interior do Estado de Goiás. Naquela oportunidade, encontrou-se uma prevalência de 7,47% de resíduos de antimicrobianos nesse alimento o que evidenciou a inexistência de uma preocupação maior por parte do Serviço de Inspeção Federal — Ministério da Agricultura, estabelecimentos de leite, assim como, dos produtores com a qualidade do produto e conseqüentemente com a saúde pública, em relação à presença desses resíduos. Os resultados comparativos relacionados aos tipos de inspeção federal existentes nos estabelecimentos de leite, distância aproximada, em km, da propriedade à “plataforma de recepção”, horário de chegada dos latões à mesma e períodos de seca e chuva mostraram que a maior freqüência de amostras positivas ocorreu nas indústrias de laticínios sob inspeção federal permanente, nas propriedades localizadas a uma distância de até 50 km da indústria e nos latões que chegaram tarde à “plataforma de recepção". Por outro lado, constatou-se a adição voluntária e fraudulenta de antimicrobianos no leite, por parte do transportador, para evitar sua acidificação.
