Resumo: Consisting of five main sections, the paper aims, in an introductory and concise way, to offer an overview of the political-ideological and theoretical landscape that characterizes the set of the most significant positions regarding the contemporary ‘environmental crisis.’ The first four sections are intended to outline criticisms of ‘pro-capitalist environmentalism,’ anti-ecological neo-fascism, eco-fascism, and the fallacies of so-called ‘postmodernism,’ exemplified by some of Bruno Latour’s ideas. In the fifth section, finally, emancipatory alternatives to the discourses and practices mentioned in the previous sections are discussed, both in terms of academic or theoretical counterpoints (originating above all from Marxism and left-libertarian streams) and with regard to spatial practices of resistance (or, better still, ‘r-existence’) of collective agents, in the context of their struggles for land, for territory, and ultimately for the Earth.
