Ecotourism, which is based on sustainability, requires awareness, and envisages a perspective of developing environmental education through the sensitization of tourists and local populations. The objective of this work was to verify the relationship between ecotourism and lodging facilities in Urubici-SC, considering this to be one of the most sought after destinations in the country by fans of this activity, considering the stimulus perspectives, practices, and trends. It has exploratory and qualitative characteristics, through interviews with managers. 82 enterprises were selected, of which 15 responded and the Municipal Department of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. Data were collected in January and February 2021, online and through the Google Forms and WhatsApp applications, with requests for participation by emails and WhatsApp. The research result leads to the conclusion that ecotourism is a driving source of tourism for this community and that it can effectively contribute to improving living conditions with new opportunities if the structuring of the segments makes it possible. As the means of accommodation are an intrinsic need, it is necessary to have fine and conscious tuning to make it possible to satisfy the current generations without compromising the future of the next ones.
