Resumo: This study sought to trace the teachers profile of Rio Grande do Norte, analyzing the teachers education data, from 2010 to 2020. For this purpose, informations collected by the Censo Escolar and published by INEP in statistical synopses and percentage indicators of teacher per group of education degree adequacy to the subject he teaches (2013 to 2020) and of teachers with higher education degree (2011 to 2020) was used. Data were compared with national and state politics and with the literature for the hypothesis construction. After analyzing the data, it is concluded that there is still a way to go, as there is a significant number of teachers in the State, both in elementary and high school, outside the group of teachers with higher education degrees in the same area of the subject who teaches.

Para ello, las informaciónes recopiladas por el Censo Escolar y publicada por el INEP en sinopsis estadísticas e indicadores porcentuales de docentes por grupo de adecuación de la formación a la asignatura que imparten (2013 a 2020) y de docentes con educación superior (2011 a 2020) fueron utilizadas. Los datos fueron comparados con políticas nacionales y estatales y con la literatura para la construcción de hipótesis. Luego de analizar los datos, se concluye que aún queda camino por recorrer, ya que existe un número significativo de docentes en el Estado, tanto de escuela primaria como de secundaria, fuera del grupo de docentes con educación superior en la misma área de la asignatura que enseña.Este estudo buscou traçar o perfil dos docentes do Rio Grande do Norte, analisando os dados de formação de professores, no período de 2010 a 2020. Para tanto, foram utilizadas informações coletadas pelo Censo Escolar e publicadas pelo INEP em sinopses estatísticas e indicadores de percentual de docente por grupo de adequação da formação à disciplina que leciona (2013 a 2020) e de docentes com curso superior (2011 a 2020). Os dados foram cotejados com as políticas nacionais e estaduais e com a literatura para construção de hipóteses.
