Resumo: | This article aims to foster the discussion on the evaluation of early childhood education and to present the proposals for the evaluation of early childhood education in development at the Center for Public Policies and Education Evaluation of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Centro de Políticas Públicas e Avaliação da Educação da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora - CAEd / UFJF), as a contribution to a Brazilian methodology for assessing early childhood education. The proposals establish three methodological strategies for evaluating early childhood education that can be implemented independently or complementarily: a) field research sending online questionnaires to principals, coordinators, teachers and assistants who work in early childhood education; b) evaluation through observation in early childhood education classes; and c) context evaluation based on the analysis of data from the School Census of Basic Education from INEP, the Demographic Census and PNAD from IBGE. The proposals are based on the National Curriculum Guidelines for Early Childhood Education (BRASIL, 2009), on the National Education Plan (BRASIL, 2014), on the Common National Curricular Base (BRASIL, 2017), different documents from the Ministry of Education, and national and international experiences. |

As propostas estabelecem três estratégias metodológicas de avaliação da educação infantil que podem ser implementadas de forma independente ou complementar: a) pesquisa de campo com uso de questionários aplicados online a diretores(as), coordenadores(as), professores(as) e auxiliares que atuam na educação infantil; b) avaliação por meio de observação em turmas de educação infantil; e c) avaliação das condições da oferta a partir da análise dos dados do Censo Escolar da Educação Básica do INEP, do Censo Demográfico e da PNAD do IBGE.
