Inclusive education in the teaching of Sciences for autistic students: experiences of public school teachers from Valença do Piauí-PI

Resumo: The present study investigates the teaching practices of final-year elementary school teachers in the municipality of Valença do Piauí, in relation to the inclusion of autistic students, notably in the discipline of Sciences. The research problematized: how have the teaching practices of teachers in the municipality of Valença attended to the teaching and learning of autistic students? For this, a qualitative approach was chosen, with the application of a semi-structured interview to the teachers. The collected data were treated according to Content Analysis for the interpretation of the results. It was concluded that there are advances regarding the teaching and inclusion of autistic students in the municipality, however, there are still problems that hinder the effective implementation of the modality. The main challenge is the lack of ongoing training for teachers who work in common classrooms, because, for inclusion to become really effective, it must start from constant training and qualification of educators.

La investigación problematizó: ¿cómo han servido las prácticas docentes de los docentes de la ciudad de Valença do Piauí para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes autistas? Para ello se optó por un enfoque cualitativo, con la aplicación de una entrevista semiestructurada a docentes. Los datos recopilados fueron tratados según Análisis de Contenido para interpretar los resultados. Se concluyó que existen avances en relación a la enseñanza e inclusión de estudiantes autistas en el municipio, sin embargo, aún existen problemas que dificultan la implementación efectiva de la modalidad. El principal desafío es la falta de capacitación continua de los docentes que trabajan en las aulas comunes, pues, para que la inclusión sea verdaderamente efectiva, se debe comenzar con la capacitación y calificación constante de los educadores.O presente estudo investiga as práticas de ensino de professores do Ensino Fundamental - Anos Finais no município de Valença do Piauí, em relação à inclusão de alunos autistas, notadamente na disciplina de Ciências. A pesquisa problematizou: como as práticas de ensino dos professores do município de Valença do Piauí têm atendido ao ensino e aprendizagem dos alunos autistas? Para isso, optou-se pela abordagem qualitativa, com a aplicação de uma entrevista semiestruturada aos professores. Os dados coletados foram tratados de acordo com Análise de conteúdo para a interpretação dos resultados. Concluiu-se que há avanços com relação ao ensino e inclusão de alunos autistas no município, porém, ainda existem problemas que dificultam a efetiva implementação da modalidade.
