Critical theory at PPGE/Unimep: trajectory of research, congresses and publicacions

Resumo: Produced for the 50th anniversary of the Unimep Postgraduate Program in Education, celebrated in 2022, this article proposes to highlight the contributions of the GEP, Study and Research Group “Critical Theory and Education”, created at UFSCar, in 1991, and which also started to work at Unimep, highlighting: I – Research projects linked to the critical theory of Society; II – The scientific congresses held in Piracicaba under the orientation of critical theory; III – Critical theory in PPGE-Unimep dissertations and theses and other scientific productions. The article recalls the fouding activities of the Research Group, in São Carlos, when the sought to undertake readings and projects on the historical-philosophical importance of the Institute for Social Research, founded in 1923 in Frankfurt, and its main thinkers, notably Theodor W. Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin and Hebert Marcuse, with the perspective of appropriating and updating its theoretical and methodological contributions, in order to reveal its training potential. The article mentions the expansion of the Research Group in other headquarters, with emphasis on Piracicaba, bringing the contemporary theoretical-critical thinking on themes of transversality of education with other áreas of knowledge, notably philosophy, aesthetics, technology, cultural policy, communication and ethics, in its inexhaustible overlaps in theses, articles and published books, congresses, reading meetings, in the midst of cultural meetings and a lot of dialogue. It highlights that the Freirian sense of education being contained in affection permeates experiences, the people, the places, of these 25 years of Critical Theory at PPGE/Unimep.

El artículo recuerda las actividades fundacionales del Grupo de Investigación, en São Carlos, cuando buscó realizar lecturas y proyectos sobre la importancia histórico-filosófica del Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales, fundado en 1923, en Frankfurt, y de sus principales pensadores, en particular Theodor W. Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin y Hebert Marcuse, con la perspectiva de apropiarse y actualizar sus contribuciones teóricas y metodológicas, con el fin de revelar su potencial formativo. El artículo menciona la expansión del Grupo de Investigación en otras localidades, con énfasis en Piracicaba, acercando el pensamiento teórico-crítico contemporáneo sobre temas transversales de la educación con otras áreas del conocimiento, notablemente filosofía, estética, tecnología, psicología, política cultural, comunicación y ética, en sus inagotables superposiciones en tesis, artículos y libros publicados, congresos, encuentros de lectura, en medio de encuentros culturales y mucho diálogo. Se destaca que el sentido freireano de la educación contenida en el afecto permea las experiencias, las personas, los lugares, de estos 25 años de Teoría Crítica en el PPGE/Unimep.Produzido para a efeméride dos 50 anos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Unimep, comemorados em 2022, este artigo propõe evidenciar as contribuições do GEP – Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa “Teoria Crítica e Educação”, criado na UFSCar, em 1991, e que passou a funcionar também na Unimep, a partir de 1996, destacando: I – Os projetos de pesquisa vinculados à teoria crítica da sociedade; II – Os congressos científicos realizados em Piracicaba sob a orientação da teoria crítica; III - A teoria crítica nas dissertações e teses do PPGE-Unimep e demais produções científicas. O artigo rememora as atividades de fundação do Grupo de Pesquisa, em São Carlos, quando buscava empreender leituras e projetos sobre a importância histórico-filosófica do Instituto de Pesquisa Social, fundado em 1923, em Frankfurt, e seus principais pensadores, notadamente Theodor W. Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin e Hebert Marcuse, com a perspectiva de apropriação e atualização de suas contribuições teóricas e metodológicas, de modo a desvendar suas potencialidades formativas. O artigo menciona a ampliação do Grupo de Pesquisa em outras sedes, com destaque para Piracicaba, trazendo a contemporaneidade do pensamento teórico-crítico em temas de transversalidade da educação com outras áreas de saber, notadamente a filosofia, a estética, a tecnologia, a psicologia, a política cultural, a comunicação e a ética, em suas imbricações inesgotáveis nas teses, artigos e livros publicados, congressos, reuniões de leitura, em meio a encontros culturais e muito diálogo.
