 O presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar como o Manguebeat se constituiu e se tornou um movimento cultural de oposição ao descaso do Estado fora do Eixo Rio-São Paulo. Este estudo se utiliza de pesquisa bibliográfica para o alcance de seus objetivos geral e específicos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória, de abordagem qualitativa. O processo de globalização tem convocado a cultura a produzir respostas à cultura hegemônica e globalizada. A cultura tem abandonado suas características homogêneas e globalizadas, pois movimentos indicam um sentido de heterogeneidade cultural. Na década de 1990, a cidade do Recife/PE presenciava o nascimento de uma nova forma de se fazer música que era resultado da mistura de ritmos tradicionais recifenses com elementos da cultura pop. Tal estilo musical era o Manguebeat, que abriu espaço para conversas sobre o que poderia ser feito para melhorar a realidade recifense. Este movimento é oriundo do processo de globalização e da necessidade da criação de ritmos que evidenciem mais a cultura e realidade local/regional em detrimento da global. A conclusão que se pode chegar é que o Manguebeat extrapola a dimensão cultural e acaba envolvendo a econômica e social.Palavras-chave: Manguebeat. Eixo Rio-São Paulo. Recife.Manguebeat as a Cultural Movement of Opposition to the State's Neglect outside the Rio-São Paulo Axis ABSTRACTThe present work aims to identify how the Manguebeat was constituted and became a cultural movement of opposition to the State neglect outside the Rio-São Paulo axis. This study uses intense bibliographical research to reach its general and specific objectives. This is a descriptive and exploratory research with a qualitative approach that uses technical procedures of bibliographic research. The process of globalization has called on culture to produce responses to hegemonic and globalized culture. Culture has tended to abandon its homogeneous and globalized characteristics, as movements indicate a sense of cultural heterogeneity. In the 1990s, the city of Recife / PE witnessed the birth of a new way of making music that was the result of the mixture of traditional Recife rhythms with elements of pop culture. This is Manguebeat, a musical style that has opened space for conversation about what could be done to improve the reality of Recife. This movement comes from the process of globalization and the need to create rhythms that highlight the local / regional culture and reality to the detriment of the global one. The conclusion that can be drawn is that Manguebeat goes beyond the cultural dimension and ends up involving the economic and social.Keywords: Manguebeat. Rio-São Paulo Hub. Recife.
