O principal objetivo deste estudo é analisar elementos do Conhecimento Pedagógico do Conteúdo (PCK) mobilizados quando alunos iniciantes em um Mestrado em Educação em Ciências elaboravam atividades relacionadas à educação ambiental e ao uso de temas ambientais voltados para a educação básica. Participaram da pesquisa oito mestrandos com formação nas seguintes áreas do conhecimento: biologia, física, química e pedagogia. Para a obtenção dos dados, foram utilizados questionários e entrevistas. Os resultados apontam que os mestrandos apresentam a base de conhecimentos para um PCK bem desenvolvido, apesar das dificuldades em relacionar o tema ambiental ao conteúdo específico da área. Considerações a respeito do conhecimento profissional dos futuros professores formadores sobre a educação ambiental no ensino de ciências são aspectos discutidos nesta pesquisa. The main goal of this study is to analyze Pedagogical Content Knowledge’s (PCK) elements mobilized when beginning students in the Master of Science Education elaborated activities related to environmental education and the use of environmental themes concerned to basic education. In the research, participated eight masters students with training in the following areas of knowledge: biology, physics, chemistry and pedagogy. To obtain the data, questionnaires and interviews were used. The results indicate that the master´s students have a well developed PCK, despite the difficulties in relating the environmental theme to the area specific content. Considerations regarding the professional knowledge of future teachers on environmental education in science teaching are aspects discussed in this research.
