Resumo: This article aims to analyze the acting system in film of the Brazilian actor Wilson Grey according to the actor-author theory (McGILLIGAN, 1975), highlighting elements that make the actor’s work have an impression of thematic and formal constants. Grey has the ability to go through different phases of Brazilian cinema and, at the same time, maintain a coherent and uniform acting system, according to some premises that aim to break with the transparency of the classic performance and the claim of the citational and distant gesture, building a persona along the lines of movie stars, although he cannot be considered entirely one. This article aims to propose a methodology for film analysis that includes the actor at the center of reflections, broadening discussions based on issues related to image and narrative construction.

Analyser le système de jeu de l'acteur brésilien Wilson Grey au cinéma selon la théorie de l'acteur-auteur (McGILLIGAN, 1975), en mettant en évidence les éléments qui donnent au travail du comédien une impression de constantes thématiques et formelles. Grey a la capacité de passer par plusieurs phases du cinéma brésilien et, en même temps, de maintenir un jeu cohérent et uniforme, selon certaines lignes de force qui visent à rompre avec la transparence du jeu classique en faveur du geste citational et distant. Il arrive ainsi a se bâtir une persona de star sur le modèle des grandes vedetes du cinéma, bien qu'il ne puisse pas entièrement être considéré comme une. Cet article propose une méthodologie d'analyse filmique qui place l'acteur au centre des réflexions, élargissant les discussions à partir de questions liées à l'image et à la construction narrative. Este artigo analisa o sistema de atuação do ator brasileiro Wilson Grey no cinema de acordo com a teoria do ator-autor (McGILLIGAN, 1975), destacando elementos que fazem a obra do intérprete ter uma impressão de constantes temáticas e formais. Grey tem a capacidade de perpassar por diversas fases do cinema brasileiro e, ao mesmo tempo, manter um jogo coerente e uniforme, segundo algumas premissas que visam a quebra com a transparência da atuação clássica e a reivindicação do gesto citacional e distanciado, construindo uma persona nos moldes das estrelas de cinema, embora ele não possa ser considerado inteiramente uma. Para descrever o ator, propomos a figura do ator-camafeu, um corpo que, à maneira da técnica de entalhar figuras em madeira ou outra superfície, salta do fundo da forma para chamar atenção para sua fisicalidade e superficialidade.
