SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF URBAN PUBLIC PARKS:: POSSIBILITIES TO THE DEMOCRATIZATION OF LEISURE IN THE CITY OF MONTES CLAROS-MG

Resumo: In the last decades, the creation of Urban Public Parks has been a process present in different Brazilian cities, including medium-sized cities, as in the case of Montes Claros - MG. In addition to functions related to environmental conservation and urban landscape/aesthetics, Urban Parks are also important spaces for leisure experiences, being linked to different instruments of Urban, Environmental Policy and, also, Sports and Leisure in the municipalities. In this regard, the present article proposes to analyze the processes of creation and spatial distribution of Public Parks in the city of Montes Claros-MG, to better understand some relations between these spaces and leisure associated to intra-urban regionalization and correspondence to different indicators. In the results, it is evident that Montes Claros-MG follows the main trends related to the creation of these spaces in the national context, with emphasis on the most recent phase, in which there is a significant increase in the number of Parks in the city and the distribution of this equipment towards to peripheral regions of lower income, large population and low index of quality of urban life for leisure (IQV-Lazer), which can contribute to a greater diversity of experiences in these regions and democratization of access to leisure in the city.

Además de las funciones relacionadas con la conservación ambiental y paisajística / estética urbana, los Parques Urbanos también son espacios importantes para las experiencias del ocio, siendo vinculados a diferentes instrumentos de Política Urbana, Ambiental y, también, Deportiva y del Ocio en las ciudades. En este sentido, este artículo propone analizar los procesos de creación y distribución espacial de Parques Públicos en la ciudad de Montes Claros-MG, para comprender mejor algunas relaciones entre estos espacios y el ocio desde su regionalización intraurbana y correspondencia con diferentes indicadores. En los resultados, se evidencia que Montes Claros-MG sigue las principales tendencias relacionadas con la creación de estos espacios en el contexto nacional, con énfasis en la fase más reciente, en la que hay un expresivo incremento en el número de Parques en la ciudad y la distribución de estes equipamientos hacia las regiones periféricas de menores ingresos, gran población y bajo índice de calidad de vida urbana para el ocio (IQV-Lazer), lo que puede contribuir a una mayor diversidad de experiencias en estas regiones y a la democratización del acceso al ocio en la ciudad.Nas últimas décadas, a criação de Parques Públicos Urbanos tem sido um processo presente em diferentes cidades brasileiras, inclusive nas cidades médias, como no caso de Montes Claros-MG. Para além de funções ligadas à conservação ambiental e à paisagem/estética urbanística, os Parques Urbanos também são importantes espaços para as vivências de lazer, estando vinculados a diferentes instrumentos de Política Urbana, Ambiental e, também, de Esporte e Lazer nos municípios. Nesse aspecto, o presente artigo propõe analisar os processos de criação e distribuição espacial de Parques Públicos na cidade de Montes Claros-MG, para melhor compreender algumas relações desses espaços com o lazer a partir de sua regionalização intraurbana e correspondência a indicadores diversos. Nos resultados, evidencia-se que Montes Claros-MG acompanha as principais tendências ligadas a criação desses espaços no contexto nacional, com destaque para a fase mais recente, na qual há um aumento expressivo do número de Parques na cidade e desconcentração desses equipamentos em direção a regiões periféricas de renda mais baixa, grande contingente populacional e baixo índice de qualidade de vida urbana para o lazer (IQV-Lazer).
