Resumo: O objetivo deste texto é discutir, em linhas gerais, algumas facetas das relações entre formação de professores, trabalho e saberes docentes e suas repercussões nas instituições escolares brasileiras. Mais especificamente, este texto analisa a condição (do trabalho) docente e a condição de (ser) docente no Brasil e suas repercussões naquilo que acontece efetivamente nas salas de aula em nosso País. ___The goal of this paper is to discuss some facets of the relationships between teacher education and teachers’ work and knowledge and their repercussions upon the Brazilian schools. More specifically, this paper analyzes the teachers’ work conditions and their identities and the implications upon what really happens in the classrooms in Brazil.
