Resumo: This study is a bibliographical survey on the history of health care and the nature of teaching nursing care. The theoretical framework used is the liberation teaching of Freire1,2, the understanding of social dynamics by Vasconcellos³ and the historical, social and political basis proposed by Gonçalves4. It is a pedagogical proposal for the understanding of the act of educating as care, and care as the act of educating.

It is a pedagogical proposal for the understanding of the act of educating as care, and care as the act of educating.Se trata de una revisión bibliográfica que considera el recorrido histórico del cuidado y la naturaleza de la pedagogía del cuidado de enfermería. Toma como referencial teórico la pedagogía libertadora de Freire1,2, la compresión de la dinámica social apuntada por Vasconcellos³ y la fundamentación histórico-política defendida por Gonçalves4. Se sitúa como una propuesta pedagógica capaz de entender el acto de educar como cuidado y el asistir/cuidar como acto de educar.Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica que considera o percurso histórico do cuidado em saúde e a natureza da pedagogia do cuidado da enfermagem. Toma como referencial teórico a pedagogia libertadora de Freire(1,2), a compreensão da dinâmica social apontada por Vasconcellos(3) e a fundamentação histórico-sociopolítica defendida por Gonçalves(4).
