Resumo: The study focused on verifying the youth basketball coaches’s learnings, regarding diferente ages and sex, considering the formal, non-formal and informal contexts. For that, semi-structured interviews were carried out, whose answers were submitted to Thematic Analysis. The results showed that the three contexts were important in the professional learning processes between men and women, although relevant differences have been registered; in order to act in the same position, women needed a higher formal qualification; younger coaches have more opportunities for international internships. As a conclusion, we identified a wide range of learning acquired throughout different contexts, been the coaching practice a lifelong journey.

As a conclusion, we identified a wide range of learning acquired throughout different contexts, been the coaching practice a lifelong journey.El estudio se centró em verificar la trayectoria de formación profesional de entrenadores y entrenadoras de baloncesto de diferentes edades, que laboran em categorías de base, describiendo los aprendizajes identificados por hombres y mujeres en contextos formales, no formales e informales. Para ello se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas, cuyas respuestas fueron sometidas a Análisis Temático. Los resultados evidenciaron la importancia de los tres contextos formativos referidos em los procesos de aprendizaje profesional entre hombres y mujeres, aunque se han registrado diferencias relevantes entre los dos grupos; para trabajar en el mismo puesto, las mujeres tenían calificaciones formales más altas; los entrenadores más jóvenes tienen más oportunidades em pasantías internacionales que los más experimentados. Em cualquier caso, el estudio permitió evocar, a partir de los informes obtenidos, la contribución assertiva de los contextos de aprendizaje formal, no formal e informal em la formación profesional de entrenadores y entrenadoras em uma modalidad deportiva colectiva.O estudo primou por verificar o percurso de formação profissional de treinadores e treinadoras de basquetebol de diferentes idades, que atuam em categorias de base, descrevendo aprendizagens identificadas em contextos formais, não formais e informais. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas, cujas respostas foram submetidas à Análise Temática. Os resultados evidenciaram a importância dos três referidos contextos formativos nos processos de aprendizagem profissional entre homens e mulheres, ainda que tenham sido registradas diferenças relevantes entre os dois grupos; para atuarem no mesmo cargo, as mulheres apresentaram maior qualificação formal; treinadores e treinadoras mais jovens tiveram maior número de oportunidades em estágios internacionais em relação aos/às mais experientes.
