INITIAL COACH EDUCATION IN BRAZIL: INTERLOCUTIONS BETWEEN BACHELOR'S IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND IN SPORT SCIENCES

Resumo: The aim of this essay is to discuss the initial education of sports coaches in Brazil in bachelor's courses in Physical Education and in Sport Sciences. We present studies in Physical Education and in Sport Sciences on initial education, and the Sport Sciences political pedagogical project at the University of Campinas - Unicamp, one of only two in Brazil and strongly anchored in Sport Pedagogy. The Sport Sciences course shows an emphasis on sport-specific knowledge. Students and graduates of the Sport Sciences course at Unicamp are more interested in sports training, while studies with Physical Education graduates point to the health area. The curricular structure and the professional interest in each course, indicate that the coach education is more valued and specific in the bachelor's degree in Sport Sciences.

Presentamos estudios de Educación Física y Ciencias Del Deporte sobre formación inicial, y el proyecto político pedagógico de Ciencias Del Deporte en la Universidad Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp, una de las dos únicas en Brasil y fuertemente anclado en la Pedagogía del Deporte. El curso Ciencias Del Deporte muestra un énfasis en el conocimiento específico del deporte. Los estudiantes y egresados del curso de Ciencias Del Deporte de la Unicamp están más interesados en los procesos de entrenamiento deportivo, mientras que los estudios con egresados de Educación Física apuntan al área de la salud. La estructura curricular y el interés de actuar en cada curso indican que la formación de entrenadores es más valorada y específica en Ciencias Del Deporte.O objetivo deste ensaio é discutir a formação inicial de treinadores(as) esportivos no Brasil em cursos de bacharelado em Educação Física e Ciências do Esporte. Apresentamos estudos da Educação Física e Ciências do Esporte sobre a formação inicial, e o projeto político pedagógico de Ciências do Esporte da Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp, um dos dois únicos no Brasil e fortemente ancorado na Pedagogia do Esporte. O curso de Ciências do Esporte mostra uma ênfase nos conhecimentos específicos do esporte. Os discentes e egressos do curso de Ciências do Esporte da Unicamp apresentam maior interesse no treino esportivo, enquanto estudos com egressos da Educação Física apontam a área da saúde.
