Resumo: The present aims to highlight the possibilities that music offers to history teaching. So, to carry out this work, a reflection was carried out on music with the musical style called Rap, entitled “Negro Drama”, composed by Racionais MC's, a Brazilian Rap group, since 1997, which belongs to the album “Nada como um dia Além the other day”, released in 2002. The focus of the study was anti-racism, and important points related to this topic were addressed, such as: black people in a historical context, numerous problems that racial prejudice brings with rap as a denunciation device race and the situation of black people in Brazilian society. Methodologically, the study is based on a bibliographical analysis of a qualitative nature and the analysis of a song, understood as a historical source. It was found that adequate use of music in teaching history can give good results, and that the chosen music has content to assist in the construction of historical knowledge, promoting a broader view of History, in which voices from historically discriminated groups address the theme. racial, exposing the experience of being black in Brazil.
