Resumo: Objective: Analyze the cases of exogenous food and drink poisoning reported in the municipality of Barra do Garças - MT. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional epidemiological study was carried out through notification sheets between 2008 and 2017. Results: A total of 232 cases were reported, of which 207 were food and 25 drinks. Of the total, 31 possible occurrences of food poisoning were verified. The year with the highest number of records was in 2010, with 83 cases. The age range between 18-59 years (60.3%) and the male (51.3%) were the most affected. It was verified that the highest incidence was in the residences and the foods most cited were fast food (7.33%). Conclusion: It can be verified that the young adult male population was the one that obtained the most records in the studied 20 period. However, a small portion of food poisoning cases are reported correctly staying away from the reality of this problem.

Metodologia: Realizou-se um estudo epidemiológico descritivo e transversal através de fichas de notificação, entre os anos de 2008 a 2017. Resultados: Foram notificados 232 casos, sendo 207 como alimentos e 25 bebidas. Do total, foram verificados 31 possíveis surtos de intoxicação alimentar. O ano com maior número de registros foi em 2010, com 83 casos. A faixa etária entre 18-59 anos (60,3%) e o sexo masculino (51,3%) foram os mais acometidos. Verificou-se que a maior incidência foi nas residências e os alimentos mais citados foram os fast-food (7,33%). Conclusão: Pode-se verificar que a população jovem adulta masculina foi a que obteve mais registros no período estudado.
