Resumo: The aim of this study was to identify wage differentials in the workforce in Mato Grosso, correlating education levels with average monthly earnings. The proposal consists of using the database of the Annual Social Information Report (RAIS in Portuguese) of the Ministry of Labor for the year 2020, focusing on the different levels of schooling and the average income of each stratum of intellectual capacity for all 141 municipalities in Mato Grosso. The results indicate a correlation of 0.91 between schooling and monthly income, indicating that with each additional level of schooling there is an increase in income. The biggest difference in wages occurs between high school and undergraduate level, demonstrating the importance of university and technological education. At the end, possibilities for facing the challenges of intellectual development of the workforce in Mato Grosso are suggested.

A proposta consiste na utilização da base de dados do Relatório Anual de Informações Sociais (RAIS) do Ministério do Trabalho do exercício de 2020, focando nos diversos níveis de escolaridade e a renda média de cada estrato de capacitação intelectual para todos os 141 municípios mato-grossenses. Os resultados indicam correlação de 0,91 entre escolaridade e renda mensal, sinalizando que a cada nível adicional de escolaridade há elevação dos rendimentos. O maior diferencial de salários ocorre entre a formação em nível médio e nível superior, demonstrando a importância da formação universitária e tecnológica.
