MATH EDUCATION IN PEDAGOGY COURSE: WHAT TO REVEAL THE CURRICULUM MATRICES

Resumo: This study is inserted in discussions about teacher education who are teach Math in the early years of Elementary School and have as general aim to analyze the place that the discipline “Methodology of teaching Math” occupies in the curriculum of the Pedagogy courses in Roraima. The research methodology considers bibliographical and documented study. The bibliographical study focused on the historical aspects of educational formation in the course of Pedagogy and the definition of required knowledge to teach Math. In the documental study were analyzed the curriculum matrices of 13 Pedagogy courses that are duly accredited by the Ministry of Education to run in the state of Roraima. In addition to the curriculum matrices, it was possible to have access to the summaries of disciplines specifically focused on the study of foundations, contents and methodologies of Math in 05 of these courses. The study makes possible to verify that Pedagogy courses in Roraima exist in a similar situation at the national level, favoring the methodological content, and except for two institutions, all other courses offer only one discipline aimed to Math education. In half of the summaries analyzed, it appears that the institutions already show content blocks that make up the curriculum in the early years of Elementary School, as part of the contents to be studied graduation

A metodologia de pesquisa contemplou estudo bibliográfico e documental. O estudo bibliográfico focou no aspecto histórico da formação docente no curso de Pedagogia e na definição de conhecimentos necessários para ensinar matemática. No estudo documental foram analisadas as matrizes curriculares de 13 cursos de Pedagogia, que estão devidamente credenciados pelo Ministério da Educação para funcionar no estado de Roraima. Além das matrizes curriculares foi possível ter acesso às ementas das disciplinas voltadas especificamente para o estudo de fundamentos, conteúdos e metodologias da matemática em 05 desses cursos. O estudo possibilitou verificar que nos cursos de Pedagogia do estado de Roraima existe situação semelhante à que se referem as pesquisas realizadas em nível nacional, já que em geral, privilegiam os conteúdos metodológicos e, com exceção de duas instituições, todos os demais cursos oferecem apenas uma disciplina destinada à educação matemática.
