YOUTUBE® PLATFORM AS A SUPPORT TOOL FOR TEACHING BIOLOGY

Resumo: Of the many challenges currently encountered by teachers, the difficulty and the complexity in finding solutions to improve the quality of education in public schools of the country are highlighted. It is not enough, however, the effort of teachers to seek teaching proposals, as it is not enough either, only restructuring the rules that regularize the Brazilian education, when it is desired to employ differentiated teaching practices in the teaching of Biology or any other discipline; this is a process that depends on the joint effort of all school community. This research aimed to evaluate the limits, perspectives and opportunities of using the Youtube platform as an educational support tool for the biology teaching. Specifically, it was proposed to assess whether the use of the Youtube platform as a tool to support the investigative proposal in the classroom contributed to foster the students role and their effective interes in biology studies. Activities in a didactic sequence were planned for the utilization of this tool and realization of the research. Through its application, the students who participated in the classes, in addition to other activities, replied to two questionnaires, which provided findings, that made possible verify that students approve the use of the Youtube platform as a tool pursuit of knowledge. Observation of the behaviour of young people in the school environment made it possible to realize that, in this generation, the use of Digital Information Technologies and Communication(TDICs),increasingly, has become an element belonging to the daily life of each one

Não basta, contudo, o esforço dos professores em buscar propostas de ensino, como também não basta, apenas, a reestruturação nas normas que regulamentam o ensino brasileiro, quando se deseja empregar práticas de ensino diferenciadas no ensino de Biologia ou de qualquer outra disciplina; esse é um processo que depende do esforço conjunto de toda comunidade escolar. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral avaliar os limites, perspectivas e oportunidades do uso da plataforma Youtube como ferramenta de apoio educacional para o ensino de Biologia. De modo específico, propôs-se avaliar se a utilização da plataforma Youtube como ferramenta de apoio à proposta investigativa em sala de aula, contribuiu para fomentar o protagonismo dos alunos e o interesse efetivo pelos estudos de Biologia. Para o emprego dessa ferramenta e realização da pesquisa foram planejadas atividades em uma sequência didática. Por meio de sua aplicação, os alunos que participaram das aulas, além de outras atividades, responderam a dois questionários, que forneceram dados para se chegar às conclusões, o que possibilitou verificar que os alunos aprovam o uso da plataforma Youtube como ferramenta de busca de conhecimento.
