Potentialities of the Discussion Forum as an online Formative Evaluation Task in a Mathematics Degree Program at UAB

Resumo: In this work, we aim to present some aspects of the process of online assessment revealed in the first author's doctoral research, which took place in the context of the subject Pre-Calculus II of a Mathematics Undergraduate course of the UAB, focusing on the interactions that occurred in the Discussion Forum of the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) of the course. Methodologically, the research was based on references of Qualitative Research and Content Analysis. As a result, the aspects that were highlighted in the research, linked to the Discussion Forum, were: The Discussion Forum as a tool for Evaluation, monitoring and communication in the AVA; Possibilities of the Discussion Forum and the Chat as tools of Interaction and Learning; Aspects of Social Interaction as a possibility of Learning.

Metodológicamente, la investigación se basó en los referentes de la Investigación Cualitativa y el Análisis de Contenido. En consecuencia, los aspectos que se evidenciaron en la investigación, vinculados al Foro de Discusión, fueron: El Foro de Discusión como herramienta de Evaluación, seguimiento y comunicación en AVA; Posibilidades del Foro de Discusión y del Chat como herramientas de Interacción y Aprendizaje; Aspectos de la Interacción Social como posibilidad de Aprendizaje.Neste trabalho, objetivamos apresentar alguns aspectos do processo da Avaliação online revelados na pesquisa de Doutorado do primeiro autor, que se deu no contexto da disciplina Pré-Cálculo II de um curso de Licenciatura em Matemática da UAB, com foco nas interações ocorridas no Fórum de Discussão do Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA) do curso. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa se sustentou em referenciais da Pesquisa Qualitativa e da Análise de Conteúdo.
