This article is a cutting of a comprehensive survey Master's Degree in Science and Humanities Teaching – PPGECH and searched asnwer for the problem: what is the perception to be professor in the subject of English for Specific Purpose in the undergraduated course at UFAM? With the objective to analyze the professors’ perceptions about to be professor of English for Specific Purposes. The survey is a qualitative approach of the narrative type. Data were collected through of the narrative interview with four professors who teach this subject. Data processing was carried out in the light of Content Analysis. The perception to be a professor of the subject of IFE is based on the concept that to teach it the professor needs to be prepared theoretically and methodologically. To stimulate the education and stimulate learning, there is a need to prepare support materials, participate in events in search of new knowledge, join research groups, and invest in individual and collective training. Given this evidence, there is a need for training that contemplates the reality of the specific demands of IFE, both in terms of initial and continued training.
