Resumo: Writing is a complex and challenging activity, as there are countless difficulties between the researcher and what is being studied. Therefore, the objective of the study is to reflect on the challenges inherent in writing a doctoral thesis and the fear of writing in the postgraduate universe. The theoretical path undertaken here for analysis followed the assumptions of a qualitative approach. In this way, we carried out a bibliographical and narrative research. The constructed narratives are from a doctoral student in a Graduate Program in Education at a Federal Institute in Brazil. As a result, we deduced that the act of writing in graduate school is sinuous, but possible. Furthermore, these difficulties are even greater for women, who, in addition to academic activities, have to take care of the education of their children, household activities and professional life.Palavras-chave: Escrita da tese. Por ello, el objetivo del estudio es reflexionar sobre los desafíos inherentes a la redacción de una tesis doctoral y el miedo a escribir en el universo de posgrado. El camino teórico emprendido aquí para el análisis siguió los supuestos de un enfoque cualitativo. De esta manera, realizamos una investigación bibliográfica y narrativa. Las narrativas construidas son de un estudiante de doctorado en un Programa de Posgrado en Educación en un Instituto Federal en Brasil. Como resultado, deducimos que el acto de escribir en la escuela de posgrado es sinuoso, pero posible. Además, estas dificultades son aún mayores para las mujeres, quienes, además de las actividades académicas, deben ocuparse de la educación de sus hijos, las actividades del hogar y la vida profesional.Escrever é uma atividade complexa e desafiadora, pois são inúmeras as dificuldades entre o pesquisador e o que está sendo estudado. Para tanto, o objetivo do estudo é refletir sobre os desafios inerentes à escrita da tese de doutorado e o medo de redigir no universo da pós-graduação. O percurso teórico aqui empreendido para análise, seguiu os pressupostos de uma abordagem qualitativa. Nesse caminho, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica e narrativa. As narrativas erigidas são de uma doutoranda de um Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação de um Instituto Federal do Brasil. Como resultados, depreendemos que o ato da escrita na pós-graduação é sinuoso, porém possível. Ademais essas dificuldades se sobrelevam para as mulheres, que além das atividades acadêmicas, têm que dar conta da educação dos filhos, das atividades do lar e da vida profissional. O artigo foi organizado em duas seções, além dessas considerações iniciais e das sendas (in) conclusivas.
