Thoughts on the new roles played by audience in Journalism after Web 2.0

Resumo: Thinking about Journalism nowadays is more than a challenge. It is a need. Since the end of the 20th century Journalism is going through a variety of changings, which are observed to happen on the base of the processes of news production, distribution and access and in its relation with audience. The former one is indeed one of the most important of all changes. In other moments, eventhough within well-defined roles (receiver), and now within the interaction logic, audience involves itself and is involved by Journalism in many ways. In this work we bring some thoughts on those new roles played by audience in its relationship with Journalism, mainly after the advent of what is called WEB 2.0, that is, a phase favors and promote people participation through digital interfaces. Furthermore this work has the objective of presenting the concept of Potent Audience.

Desde o final do século XX o jornalismo vem passando por uma série de mudanças, que são observadas na base do processo de produção, de distribuição, de acesso às notícias e na relação com a audiência. Essa última uma das mais significativas mudanças. Com papéis bem definidos, em outros momentos, a audiência, sob a lógica da interação, envolve-se e é envolvida pelo jornalismo de diversas formas. No trabalho nos propomos a trazer algumas reflexões sobre esses novos papéis assumidos pela audiência na relação com o jornalismo, após o que se denomina WEB 2.0, fase que favorece e promove a participação.
